Rain.... Ever falling... Like our memories
Things were going slowly. I was still trying to make out what had just happened in the train. And in the train station.
How did he end up here if he's only a figment of my imagination?
And how did I end up.... where ever it is that you are?
I finally decided that the Creator wanted to show me something, or he wouldn't have opened that door.
Though I was glad he did.
I guess.... I was different after that experience. My lips still tingled, and your name was running it's self over and over in my head. Just in case.
But I still had big questions. Ones that I wanted answering. but the biggest question I still have is....
"When are you coming home?" I asked to the wind.
I looked up at the sky as I did. The sun beat down on my face. I closed my eyes and soaked up it's rays.
I wanted to be happy that I had been able to see you again.
That I remembered you.
But... in the pit of my stomach, was a knot that just wouldn't go away.
I got the feeling that something bad was happening.
I want to say that it was happening to me but.... that's not exactly true.... it's happening to my other half.... the half that I gave up when I brought you back.
Uh-oh.
"Zaydie what is wrong?!" Quorra cried. I turned to her on my skateboard. We had been running over grass and hills for the past two hours with out a break.
"Hmm?"
"Your mopping! Your all gloomy and I can't stand it!" She complained. "I don't even know why your mopping! You just are! Come on let me in!" She reached over and knocked on my forehead for emphasize.
"It's nothing." I remarked, turning away.
"See?! That is not letting me in!"
I sighed.
"Something's wrong." I muttered.
"Huh? wrong with what? letting me in?"
I shook my head. "No.... with me." My hand clutched the ever-so-present medallion around my neck.
Quorra saw me and realization came onto her face.
"You mean.... him don't you?"
I nodded and looked up at my sister.
"yeah... He's in trouble, I can feel it. But I just don't know..... why or how to bust him out."
"Pray about it."
I looked to my left and found that Savrin had fallen next to me.
I nodded.
"Thanks Sav." I said wit ha smile.
"Oh sure. Let him in." Quorra muttered. I rolled my eyes and sped up. This gang's CRAZY!!!!
I sent up a prayer to the Creator. Asking him to show me what to do, and where to go. I could only hope he heard me.
Ridding around with headphones on, happy music pumping, isn't so bad! haha!
I messed around on the board and got to doing some tricks.
And when I wasn't, I was swaying to the music.
"You know that looks really weird when we can't hear the music." I jumped and turned around to see Rix laughing. I scowled and slapped his arm playfully.
"Humph."
"Zaydie, do you ever think he's coming back?" Quorra asked.
I sighed. "Maybe.....not..... I don't know."
I glanced back up at the sky and noticed dark clouds started to form.
Hmm.....
A storm was coming.
We traveled till the sky got so black that we started to look around for shelter.
"Over here!" Quorra yelled, jumping up and down. The rest of us zoomed over to her and found that she was pointing to a cave.
I swept my sense through the cave and found that nothing was in it.
"It's clear." I reported.
The boys went in first, and us girls followed.
It wasn't very big and we could only sit down. But at least it was dry.
I looked out side as it started to rain.
Rain, rain, rain.
It was hard too....
I sighed and hugged my knees.
"What are we going to do now?" Quorra asked, pulling her skirt farther down her knees as she looked out at the rain.
"We going to be bored." Rix stated as he lied down with his hands behind his head. Quorra groaned and flicked his head that was beside her.
"What? I'm just saying, till the rain goes away, we can't do anything." he said.
She rolled her eyes.
"Hey! Zaydie why don't you sing for us?" She asked.
I blushed and ducked my head.
"no, I don't really feel -"
"Oh come on! please?" She pleaded. "I'll even sing with you!"
I sighed, there was no arguing with her.
"What would you have me sing?"
She clapped her hands and squealed.
"Um..... I don't know. Pick a random song on your new TymPlyer."
I pulled the headphones down around my neck and looked at the screen on my TymPlyer.
I finally found one that I had been listening too.
"This one's mostly dance music but there's a little singing in it." I said. I then laughed a little as I played it out loud. "Not sure if you'll be able to keep up Quorra."
After the long intro, the words started.
"Pump it up.
Where the
DJ
rocks the
Floor
And the
Crowd
comes back for
More
Where the
Bass
Gets loud
That's the
Place
where I
Belong"
This was the part I wasn't sure about seeing as it went real fast!
"Spin it Back,
From the Top,
Spin it Back
For the Deck
Spin the Track
For the Pack
We need to
Pump it up
Pump it up"
Ok I did good. Haha. Quorra was getting into it, and I was turning the boys' heads.
"And I know you'll
Feel it
Too
'Cause this
Track
was made for
You.
Pump it up
Pump it up
We need to
Pump it up
You gotta
get the beat
You gotta
get going
You gotta
give it all you got
Pump it up
Pump it up
You need to
Pump it up"
This was were it got slightly weird.
"You gotta
track this beat
Your freakin'
the club"
Then music came on for a while and everyone was moving to it. Savrin was actually smiling for once and Matrix had sat up and was now bobbing his head.
"We need to
Pump it up."
Then the music ended.
Everyone was laughing and clapped their hands.
"Good job Zaydie! I didn't know you could sing that well and fast!" Savrin remarked. I shrugged.
"She has a gift." Rix said with a grin. He gave me a thumbs up.
I laughed.
"Well thanks. Though it's never really been of much use, but oh well." I said moving hair out of my face.
I starred back out at the rain, and the feeling in the pit of my stomach got stronger.
Oh boy.
+++++
The rain went on for quiet a while.
Everyone soon started to get restless and they tried lots of different things to entertain themselves.
But I finally pulled my pack off and used as a pillow and fell asleep.
I found it pretty normal now to end up on the beach. Though I thought it odd that the blond kid wasn't around.
I waded out into the ocean till it was at my knees then looked around the palm tree infested beach. (not that I don't like palm trees or anything)
He was suddenly there in a flash and he took one sweep of the beach and ran over to me.
"Zaydie! You have to help him!" I took a step back as he came close. His blue eyes were full of fear.
"Wait, what's going on?" I asked, pushing him back a little. He grabbed my wrists hard.
"He's going under! Havrin's pulling him down, and The Fallen aren't helping any!"
Once he said 'Havrin' I knew exactly who he was talking about.
I nodded and as soon as I did, he dragged me up the beach and ran for the cliff that surrounded the beach.
I screamed as he dragged me right to it head on. I felt for sure that we were going to hit it hard, but apparently not.
No, instead we ran right through it.
On the other side I found myself on a cliff's edge. I was still running so I had to throw my self backwards in order to stop myself from plummeting right over the edge.
I caught myself on my toes and quickly rose to my full height.
I glanced around and found you being cornered.
But it was.... confusing.
The older man that we had fought was there again, and then.... so was Havrin. Only he wasn't in you, yet..... he looked exactly like you did. (the black spiked hair, red eyes, black leather coat)
I took several steps forward, just enough to hear what was going on.
"You are stuck here Kylun. Deal with it!" Havrin yelled. You shook your head, sending your blond hair into a ripple.
"He's right. It doesn't matter what this "Creator" has promised you, or what you've promised her. Your mine!"
"Your wrong. I'll get back. If it's the last thing I do, I'll get back to her." You shouted back.
The old man laughed.
"I don't think so. Look at where you stand! And look back into your memories. She's better off with out you." He suddenly waved his hand and in front of him a swirling whirlpool appeared. Only it looked like glass, and in the glass was a video of Vegg, Quorra, and I dancing in the hide-out beneath the train station.
You stopped and starred.
I wanted to cry out, I wanted to tell you that no matter how happy I looked, I was still missing you more then anything.
But I was paralyzed.
I couldn't move..... again. (I wonder how many times I'll feel like that in life)
"See?" Havrin asked in a calm and soothing tone. "She has new friends, and has forgotten you. You should know that. She couldn't even remember your name."
"No." You said, but your voice faltered as you took another step back.
"Yes Kylun. Face the truth. There is no "Creator" and she's forgotten all about you. There's no reason for you to go back."
You shook your head. Like I do so often when I try to figure out if something is real or not real.
"There's no reason Kylun! Stay here! Here you have everything you could ever want!" Havrin yelled. "Ditch her," he slashed his hand behind the glass and it shattered. "Get someone else. Someone better that'll keep you on the right track. This track!"
"No... That's not true. I'd know if she's given up on me." You argued, taking another step back.
Closer to the edge. You were only a foot away.
"How would you know? I'm sure that if you looked deep down, you'd see the truth." The old man said. "See for yourself, she's moved on and forgotten about you."
He made another glass vortex thing, only this time it showed when Matrix called out to me in the train station and when I willingly gave him my hand.
I shook my head and turned back to you.
"She's gone! Deal with it!" Havrin stated, taking a step forward. You took a step back. And you slipped.
I dashed forward as you fell over the edge of the cliff.
It was like it was happening in slow motion. I couldn't seem to get there fast enough. I watched as you lost your footing and rocks gave way.
Havrin and the old man did nothing, and I dove for the edge as you fell past it fast.
I slammed into the ground, yet caught your hand just in time.
I gritted my teeth as my arm felt like it was about to get dislocated by the sudden weight.
I looked down and met your blue eyes.
"It's not true Kylun." I said as I tried to keep a grip on your gloved hand. "I might have a few laughs, but I never forget the feeling in the pit of my stomach that tells me something's missing."
I swung my other hand down and gripped yours with both of mine. I pulled up and tried to lift you. ('tried' being the key word there)
Your heavy!
Or maybe it's just the whole fact that gravity isn't really in my favor.....
I pulled you up far enough that I could use my elbows for leverage. I pulled more and moved to my knees.
I finally got you high enough that you could help out (ahem, ahem)
When I pulled you up high enough, you rolled over the edge and lied down in front of me.
"Don't let go of the Creator." I ordered with a serious face. "If you did then you really are lost. Even all the light in my heart won't be able to reach you." I added softer.
You looked up at me with a tender gaze and you reached for my hand. Intertwining our fingers, a wave of warmth washed over me. It felt kind of like a breath of fresh air that I had been waiting for.
"I didn't think you'd give up on me that easily." You remarked. I laughed.
"Nope. I'll never give you up. That's a promise. Just don't give up on me ok?"
You nodded.
"And I guess it's a good thing, because I always come just in the nick of time to save your life. What's this? the third time? You owe me big time." I remarked with a laugh. You chuckled and propped yourself up on to your elbow.
"And I promise I'll repay you when I get back."
I sighed.
"And when will that be?" I asked, not trying to keep the sadness out of my tone.
You glanced around.
"When you find this place again."
I looked around and memorized the place. Over the cliff was the palm infested beach. I glanced back over my shoulder and looked for land markers. There was a big oak tree that looked over a hundred years old. It's branches spread out like an umbrella.
And it was the only tree for miles.
I turned back to you quickly, which made my hair fly into your face.
"Good grief Zaydie! Get a hair cut already!" You teased as you spat hair out of you mouth.
I pulled my hair and twisted it around my fingers and tossed it behind me.
"Sorry! hair cut. Ha, I'll keep that in mind."
You shook your head with that same sly grin that'll probably never change.
"I'll see you again when you meet me here alright?" You asked.
I took a deep breath and nodded.
"Right where I promised to be when you came back ok? start looking there." I suggested.
You nodded and I rose to my feet, letting go of your hand.
"Hey, can I give you some advice?" You asked getting up with me.
I glanced over my shoulder and saw that Havrin and the old man had disappeared. Oh well, I had a feeling that I was going to bump into them again.
"In order to get down, you gotta take the stairs."
You gave me a wink and that two fingered salute and then I woke up again.
"What was that about?" I whispered to the night.
I looked up, everyone was still sleeping, but the sun had come out, and the knot in my stomach was gone.
I smiled and stepped outside. Welcoming the sunshine.
"Alright Kylun. I'll meet up with you soon." I said to the clear blue sky.
