No. 4

Nothin’ like déjà vu to jog your memory

The next morning Vegg took me to the music shop and we looked at tons of TymPlyer’s. They all in different colors and sizes it was crazy!

“Do you really think I should get one?” I asked. I had brought a little money with me and Vegg was right, they were cheep.
“Go for it! When was the last time you bought something for yourself?” She asked. I nodded. That was true. I have never bought anything for myself.
I walked over to one in a stand. It looked like someone had splashed red, blue, and green neon paint on a black background.
“I kind of like that one.” I said.
“And look, these are the perfect headphones!” Vegg reached up and brought down a pair of headphones that would cover my whole ear. There were what looked like lights that swirled around the headphones, green, blue, and red. With the maker’s logo in the middle.
“Those are really...”
“Cool!” Vegg finished for me. “Come on, their awesome! I would get them myself if I had the creds.”
I laughed and scooped up the headphones and the TymPlyer.
I marched right over to the counter and put them gently on the counter.
“Nice choice.” The cashier said as he rung me up.
“Thanks!” I answered, digging into my pouch and placing the creds on to the counter.
“Here you go. It’s all yours.”
I smiled and took the bag.
“Thank you!”
“Don’t mention it.”
Then Vegg and I headed back to the hide-out.

No one was there in the hide-out yet so we turned up the music and started to download things on to my new TymPlyer.
In less then an hour I had over a hundred songs on there and all of them were up beat and really catchy.

“What are you guys doing?” I turned to see the rest of the gang stumble into the room.
“Listening.” I answered. Savrin shot me a look.
“No really? Gosh I would have never guessed.”
I laughed. Quorra jumped over and started to move to the groove.
“Ok but we need to get going if we’re going to get anywhere today. The train to Basadi is leaving in ten minutes.” Matrix said, stepping over to the closet.
“Basadi?” I asked. Watching him. He nodded.
“Yeah. We go to Basadi, then we go on foot from there to Tyrul which will have another train so we can go from there on to Vecina.” He explained.
“Oh.” I muttered.
He opened the padlock and opened the doors.
“Here.” He handed me a skateboard with no wheels. It was blue and it glowed. It had a really cool design on it too.
“Whoa!” Savrin stated when he got his. (it was red) Quorra’s was green. “Nice.”
“Yup. here.” He handed us each a small pack. “It’s got pretty much everything we’re going to need. A sleeping roll, extra creds, a jacket, and a first aid kit.”
I looked down at this small pack.
“It has all that in here?” I asked, opening the flap.
“Yup. Looks can be deceiving.”
My head jerked up and I saw that he was just talking about the pack. Not anything else. Brother.
I slung it over my shoulders and turned to Vegg.
She opened her arms for a hug and I obliged.
“It was really, really neat meeting you guys!” She said enthusiastically.
“I hope we can meet you again some day soon.” Quorra responded. Giving the little girl a hug.
“Yeah that would be great! And remember if ever find yourselves in a systematical pickle, just pick up a phone.” She offered. We all nodded and she got a hug out of Sav.
“I’m leaving you in charge of my brother. I’ll blame you if he gets in trouble.” She teased, pointing an accusing finger at Savrin.
“And you!” She turned to her own brother with a hard look. “If you die I’m going to torment you in Paradise alright? You had better come home in one piece!” She threatened.
Quorra and I were trying very hard not to break out into fits of giggles.
Matrix nodded and gave his sister a hug.

Then with final good-byes to Mama Bear, we headed out of the hide-out and around the building to the front of the train station.
Walking up the big steps to get there, we walked through a moving door and stepped inside one of the fanciest rooms I had ever been in.
Matrix walked over to the window and requested four tickets to Basadi.
We all handed money over and received tickets.

To board the train, we had to have our bags searched and then walk through some kind of security thing.
But when we finally made it onto the train, we searched for an empty compartment.
There were two benches facing a table in each compartment, which was then closed off from the hall by a glass door.
Some of the glass was fogged so you couldn’t see who was inside. Kind of handy, yet freaky.

We finally found an empty one near the back and piled in. We stashed our boards and bags up on the bin holder above us and then we all sat down.
Quorra and I on one side, boys on the other.
It was early in the morning, so everyone started to nod off. I pulled out my new TymPlyer and put my wireless headphones on.
The music started and I gazed over Quorra and out the window.
I was starting to nod off myself when a massive headache crashed into my head.
I yanked my headphones off and cupped my hands on my head. Leaning forward I gritted my teeth to keep from screaming.

For a moment my vision blurred and I was suddenly, not in the train anymore.... I’m not really sure where I was.
I was in a black room, that had white lights on the walls. They looked like they were part of a design embedded in the black rock. On the ground some of the stones lit up white too.
Before me I saw two people fighting it out.
One was a whole ton younger then the other. The older man had short cropped grey hair, and the younger one had blond hair..... spiked up in a wave.....
I gasped.
The younger boy wore a black robe with a big zipper down the front, the older one wore a black expensive looking suite.
The older man had two ureci in his hands.
Ok that was just not right!

The younger boy had something black and red in his hand, but I couldn’t see it to well.
“Your pathetic. You’ll die before you ever see her again!” The older man yelled.
He locked the boy with his weapons, and started to put his weight into it.
No.... this was not happening again!!
I had.... seen this before, and I won’t let it happen again!
But before I could do anything the boy threw the older one off and did an air flip landing on his toes with his weapon out behind him.
I gasped as I finally was able to see the weapon.
It was a long staff that was about as tall as he was. Where he held on to it, red lights swarmed around it, making a handle that pulsed when he touched it.
A red ribbon was tied at the base of the top, on the end of it I saw something that gave me a bigger headache. A key.
At the top of the staff was a glowing white gem that swirled around like it was made of liquid.
I knew that weapon. I remembered that weapon!

The blond headed boy didn’t see me.
If he had that weapon.... that could only mean one thing. I had met that blond boy in my dreams before!
And I hadn’t even known it!

I watched as they two of them clashed against each other again.
The younger boy teleported behind the man and pushed him forward making him fall.
The man however was anticipating that. He reached out and grabbed a hold of the boy’s neck and drove an urica into his stomach..... oh this was so not happening!!

I summoned Zindra and aimed for the man. Believing with all my heart that the arrow would pierce the man’s arm. I let the arrow fly. And it hit it’s mark.
He yelled out in pain and dropped the boy.
The boy seemed to be blacking out. I ran over and called Takara. (shield form)
I stood in front of the boy and starred down the man.
“No.... that’s impossible.”
I flipped my shield into a sword.
“Believe it buddy.” I muttered.
I slashed down at the man and I met his ureci, which he pulled up in defense.
Keeping him locked was not a good idea.
so, I improvised.
I slid down and spun around on my toe, with my right leg out, knocking his feet right out from under him.
He was down momentarily.
I dashed over to the boy and placed my hand over his new wound.
“leave it up to you to die a second time.” I muttered, letting my healing power wash over him.
His blue eyes opened and focused on me.
“You are not doing that to me again!” I growled at him.
His eyes grew big in surprise and shock.
I sensed the old man get up and come at me. Only he was faster then I thought, and I didn’t even have time to turn around.
The boy pulled me down into his chest and raised Shiro.
There was a flash of light and I turned to see the old man knocked off his feet and fly across the room.
“Your not suppose to be here.” He muttered as we scrambled to our feet.
“What and miss out on a fight like this? ha yeah right!” I remarked taking up Takara again.
I felt his eyes on me, and I glanced over.
Boy it sure was weird to see him as a blond!
“Where’d you get the outfit?” He asked.
I glanced down at my white boots, and black skirt.
“A store.... where else would I get them?” I remarked with a sly smile.
He shook his head and we charged the old man.
He was now out numbered, and it was easy once the boy was healed. Try as I might, I still couldn’t get his name! It made me so mad!!

The man managed to get past Takara and had a hand around my neck, squeezing tight.
He searched my determined eyes.
Then chuckled.
“You don’t even remember his name. Pitiful thing!” He then tossed me to the ground.
Takara spun out of my hand, and the man came at me.
I started to crawl backwards trying to think of something.
“What? Come on Zaydie!” The boy yelled jumping over the man and standing in between me and him. “You don’t even remember my name?!”
I dove for my sword and locked my fingers around it.
I didn’t answer, instead we jumped the guy and knocked him to the ground. He was old, he couldn’t fight on for much longer.
And he didn’t. Soon he was lying on the floor holding a big wound on his chest and panting for breath.
Takara disappeared, and I turned the boy.
“I’ll give you a hint. It starts with a ‘K’.” He said with that same sly grin that you always wore. He then gave me a light kiss on the lips and then he and everything else started to fade.

I soon woke back up in the train. I was still in my seat and I saw everyone looking at me with concerned faces.
I glanced around and tried to remember if that was a dream or not.
No.... It wasn’t.
“Is that.... blood?”
I glanced down and saw that my left hand was covered in red blood.... his blood....
“Kylun.” I said, my eyes wide.
Quorra gasped.
“I remember!! I remember now!!” she shouted. Savrin didn’t say anything but I knew he did too.
I remember you clearly now.
I can’t believe I had forgotten! I remember your black spiked hair, the sly grin, and the silver-red eyes.
“Kylun...” I muttered. “Why on earth was his hair blond?!” Then I remembered something that I hadn’t seen before. “And.... an earring!! Oh this is so weird!!” I shouted, shaking my head.
“Um... Zaydie.... what’s going on? and you might want to go clean that hand.” Quorra pointed out. I looked down and remembered the, now dry, blood.
I sighed and pulled my black and white stripped warmer down over my hand and walked out of the room.

Creator... was that really him? Where is he? What is he doing there? Is he going to come.... back soon?
I prayed silently as I scrubbed your blood off my hands.
This was just getting to weird.
Yet.... what’s new?

Back in the compartment, I told them what I had seen.
“Wait, wait, wait. So you already know someone who’s with The Fallen?” Matrix asked.
“I - uh.... I didn’t ask. But I assume he must be.” I answered quietly.
“right.... okay then, well now that that’s cleared up!” He remarked sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes and looked out the window.
I sensed Savrin’s eyes on me along with Quorra’s.
I turned back to them.
“Did he say anything? do anything?” Quorra asked.
“He couldn’t believe I had forgotten his name.” I smiled and rubbed my arm.
“And?.... I know he did something else your blushing!” I turned around and slapped my sister.
“It’s none of your business.” I snapped.
“Oooh! He kissed you didn’t he?”
“Quorra! I’m going to kill you!”
Quorra leaned up against the wall and used her feet to ward me off.
I gave up and shook my head with a smile on my face.
I pulled my headphones back on and turned up the music.
I remembered.
I remember!!

I smiled as I starred out the window. I actually remember! Everything!!

                                                          ++++

After that, the trip went on with out a hitch. At least that particular train ride. I can't say for everything else though.

The train ride was nice, and soon we found ourselves in Basadi. We were one of the last ones off the train. Out of the train and in the open train station (it had no walls, just a roof)
My mind started to play tricks with me.
I saw a flash of blond spiked hair pass by me, for a moment he glanced down and gave me a wink, then in a flash he was gone.
I put my hands to my head and looked around. There were too many people. It was too loud. I couldn't even hear myself think!
"Zaydie?" I looked up and found Matrix beside me.
"It's... to loud." I managed to mutter through the pain.
I felt a hand in mine and glanced up as Rix started to lead me out of the station.

I never saw much of Basadi. Just a lot of buildings and loud people.
Savrin made the decision to get out of the city as fast as possible seeing as I wasn't doing so well.
It was all I could do to keep walking.
Once we were outside the city limits, and had walked enough distance that the noise died down, we rested so I could get rid of the headache.
"Are you ok? what happened?" Quorra asked, Bending down to her knees and sitting beside me.
".... he triggered something." I muttered.
"....Who?"
"The blond guy from my dreams. I saw him in the train station. And that's when the pain hit."
Quorra was quiet. I looked out at the, almost flat, plain we were going to cross.
Hills were every where, but they were just covered in grass. In a way, it looked like a sea, the hills I mean.
They rolled right after another, going on for as far as I could see. The green grass went on forever as well. I couldn't see the ocean, or smell the salt yet.
But... maybe soon....
