I get a job.... oh boy

We made up for the lost time really quickly actually.
Matrix pushed and pushed us so that might be the reason. Psh what ever.

Anyways, as we zoomed by we started to pass by farms and the people working on the farms waved at us.
We smiled and waved back as we zipped past.
"I wish life was that simple." I dreamed.
"Huh?" Rix asked.
"All you had to do was accomplish your chores and then you got the rest of the day off. I wish it was that simple." I explained.
"Oh...." He was quiet again.

We came up to Tyrul fast. The city looked like a bunch of houses linked together by bridges.
But there was a tall wall surrounding the city. And guess what?
we had to pay in order to get in.
there goes all our money.
No I'm dead serious. It took all of our money to get us through the gates and into the city.
Every. Last. Cred.
Oh boy.

"What a rip off!" Quorra exclaimed.
"Shh!" The three of us shouted at her.
She sighed and we took off on our boards again.
"well we cant go anywhere with out creds." Leave it to Matrix to point out the obvious.
"Yes. that's a true statement, so what are we going to do?" I asked.
We had to stop as someone was a commotion happened right in front of us.
"Get out and stay out!"
A large man shoved out a group of guys who looked like they were a band.
"Come on Mr. Estra!" One pleaded. (a dude with black hair in his face haha)
"No! You are fired!" Mr. Estra yelled.
The boys sulked off.
"What am I going to do? If the Creator doesn't bring me a new singer soon I'll be out of business." He muttered.
Matrix got this stupid grin on his face that I knew I wasn't going to like.
"Um, excuse me sir. Did I just hear that you need a new singer?" He asked.
Uh-oh....
Mr. Estra stopped in his tracks and looked at us.
"Yeah. Why can you sing?"
Everyone moved aside, leaving me in the spot light.
Yup. I knew I wasn't going to like it.
"I can sir." I said politely. Stepping forward.
He looked me up and down.
"Are you back ups?"
I glanced back at the others and before they got the chance to say anything I spoke up.
"Yup. They are." If I had to do it. They did too. haha.

Mr. Estra led us inside through the back door.
I found that he owned a.... club of sorts.
I mean it had a stage and a dance floor that lit up. But then it also had tables and a kitchen were you could order from.
"It's all strictly none-alcohol drinks. And most of the people in here are kids anyway." Mr. Estra explained. I nodded.
"Who'll control you tracks?"
"I will." Savrin offered. Mr. Estra took him over to the DJ station to the side of the stage.
I stepped out onto the stage and looked around wide eyed.
The stage was huge!

I should probably explain what the club looked like.
The room was round and very large!
At the far side of it was a semi-circle stage that floated above the ground and glowed blue. Casting a glow on everyone and thing that stood on it.
The steps up to it disappeared as soon as you were off them, and appeared as soon as you put your foot out. But you had to trust it, kind of like a leap of faith.

Lights were positioned both on the back of the stage, and on the banister in front of it.
The kitchen was in the back, and I could hear people making stuff back there. But then there was a counter where people paid for their food.
People were starting to come in and there was a low buzz of noise.
I felt self-counscious as they glanced up at me and pointed.
What was I doing up here?!

Creator, I know you have provided me with this door of opportunity, but please. Help me not to blow it. Please. I prayed as I went over to Savrin who was getting the hang of things.
"So what song do you want to sing first?" He asked, looking up at me.
I turned to Quorra and Matrix.
"Which ones do you guys want to sing?"
"I'm not, I'll be helping out back here." Matrix jumped in. I shot him a look.
"Chicken. Ok," I turned to Quorra. "It's just you and me What'll it be?"
She thought for a moment. Then snapped her fingers.
"Castle in the sky!"
"Oh! I love that one." I turned to Savrin who was typing away at some computer monitor. I pulled my headphones down around my neck as he handed me his to see if it was the right song.
I nodded.
"Yeah that's it." I said handing back the headphones.
He nodded and pressed some buttons.

I turned to see that the lights were up and two microphones were up and ready. Mr. Estra came back.
"We're starting you off with these mics. But if your good, then I'll give you ones that go around your head so you can dance too." I nodded.
"Thanks."
"No problem. Take it away. Lets see what you got." He then left the stage.
I got nervous as more people started to show up and looked expectedly at me.

I turned to Quorra and we did our good luck handshake, then turned to Savrin and gave him the signal.
He hit the music and it wasn't long till I started to sing to the up beat tune.

"There's a place in
My Mind
No one knows where it
Hides.
And my fantasy is
Flying
It's a castle in the
Sky"

The crowd wasn't really sure yet, but it was too early in the song to be judging. I let Quorra take over.

"It's a world of our
Past
Where the legend still
Lasts
And the king wears the
Crown
But the magic spell is
Law."

She was good. We hadn't sung together in a while so it brought back memories when we use to sing this with our mom when we were little.
I jumped in with her and we started the chourus.

"Take your
Sword
and your
Shield

There's a battle on the
Field
You're a knight and you're
Right
So with dragons now you'll
Fight."

Quorra let me have it again. The crowd was now starting to get into it, and some were on the dance floor moving around with surprising grace.

"And my fancy is
Flying
it's a castle in the
Sky
Or there's nothing out
There
These are castles in the
Air.

Fairytales live in
Me
Fables coming from my
Memory
Fantasy is not a
Crime
Find your castle in the
Sky."

The next part was a bunch of music, and a little but of melody. Quorra and I both jumped in.

"Du da dum,
du du da du dum

Du du dum.
du da du da dum."

Then the music got going and both of us started to move to the beat. Encouraging everyone else to do it.

"Du da dum
Castle in the sky.

Du da du da dum
Du da dum
Castle in the sky."

I let Quorra take the lead on the next verse.

"You've got the
Key
Of the kingdom of the
Clouds
Open the door
Leaving back your
Doubts.

You've got the
Power
To live another
Childhood
So ride-"

"The wind
That leads you to the
Moon 'cause...." I jumped in. She laughed and we both started to sing again.

"Fairytales live in
Me
Fables coming from my
Memory
Fantasy is not a
Crime
Find your castle in the
Sky!

Dum du du da da du
Du da du du da dum."

More music, which meant more dancing.
By now the whole crowd was "shredding it" on the dance floor. And so where we.

"Find your castle in the
Sky
You've got the
Key.
So ride the
Wind
That leads you to the
Moon.
And find your castle in the
Sky."

We ended the song with a curtsy and the crowd broke out in applause. Us girls smiled and blushed, while we waved at them. We stepped off the stage (which took a minute) and we met up with a smiling Mr. Estra.
"Ya'll are hired!" He stated.
The boys had joined us and we broke out into laughs and hugs went all around.
"Thank you." We all said. Mr. Estra smiled and nodded.
"No problem."
Thank you Creator! I cried happily.

So that is how I got my first job! Very exciting yeah? well it is. It's fun to get up and sing every night. And after a few shoes, we got onto dancing with it too. It was always just spur of the moment, not planned or anything. But Quorra and I always were good with that kind of thing.

                                                             ++++

But... as soon as we got enough money to move on, we had to quit.
"Mr. Estra?" Sav called. Mr. Estra came around the corner with a smile.
"Yeah?"
"We.... We have to be leaving now sir." He said with a sad tone. (He really enjoyed the whole DJ thing. haha)
"Ah I had a feeling you would be soon. You have a bigger race to run then just singing don't you?" He asked rubbing his chin.
Savrin nodded.
"Well alright. It was a good run kid. I'm glad the Creator sent you my way." Mr. Estra gave Savrin a slap on the back.

But I wasn't there when this happened.
I was out in Tyrul in the one spot that wasn't ever crowded.
It was a small fountain that I had found the first time I had wondered around the city.
It was small, and had water shouting out from the top. And if the sun was just right, then a rainbow would appear. (yes I know completely girly of me psh.)

I was sitting on the rim of the fountain watching the little droplets as they fell back to the basin of water, and as they did sunlight would catch in them, making them appear sunset orange.
I was humming 'My Freedom' (which is one of my favorite songs by the way) as my head swarmed with thoughts and dreams. Most of them seemed extremely far fetched but hey,... what can I say.

I sensed him form the very start. I just wasn't real sure what he wanted, so I didn't confront him.
He walked painfully slow, but soon he was sitting next to me watching the street.
I turned and looked at him.
Same mystery boy that's been stalking me for awhile.... brother.
"I have a message." He said, not looking at me.
"Ok. Shoot." I turned back to the fountain. "who's it from?"
This time the blond haired boy looked at me.
"Take a guess. I'm only ever connected to the two of you. And once he's back I won't even exist anymore." He mumbled.
"Wait what? What do you mean you won't exist anymore?" I asked turning around to a more comfortable position.
He shook his head. "It's complicated. And I can't stay very long."
I sighed. Always full of excuses.
"Alright fine. So what's the message."
"He wants to remind you that no matter how hard you fall, he'll always be there to catch you."
I... wasn't really sure what to say. And at first the words didn't mean anything to me.
But when they started to soak in, I smiled.
"Anything else you want to tell him?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Yeah, tell him I won't loose faith in him. Ever."
He nodded and got up.
"Good luck Zaydie. Don't get yourself killed." He stated, giving me a two fingered salute over his shoulder.
"I will definitely try not to." I stated with a grin.
"You do that. See you around."
Then he disappeared into the crowd on the busy street.
I turned back to the fountain and sighed. Leaning my head down on my arms that rested on the rim of the fountain, I watched it again as I tried to decode your message.
But it wasn't making much sense.

"Hey Zaydie!"
I spun around and found Matrix yelling at me with my pack slung over his shoulder.
"Time to hit the road!"
I jumped up and ran over to him, taking my board and bag off his hands.
"Then I guess we had better get to it." I remarked.
The four of us wove our ways in through the busy streets. I glanced around Tyrul. It was a very interesting city, that's for sure.
I'm not sure I like the fact that all of the houses are connected....hmm....

We made it to the train station and were one of the first ones on the train, which guaranteed us a spot.
In the train we all crashed.
"Ok.... so what's the plan once we get to Vecina?" Quorra asked. Martix held up a finger and checked out in the hall, then closed the door and pushed a button.
The glass started to fog and soon we couldn't see out, and no one could see in.
"That is a good question. And I have no idea." Rix stated, sitting back down.
I leaned against the wall on the window side and faced the rest of the gang.
"So... what do we do?" I asked.
And that's when Tasin showed up. She sat in between Martix and I with the cutest smile on her face.
"Hi everyone!" She said in a sweet voice.
Matrix jumped.
"Where the heck did she come from?" He asked.
"Uh....not really sure actually." I answered.
"right..." he muttered.
I glanced up and saw that Quorra was getting a big smile on her face. One that I knew so well.
"Aw.... she looks like your guys' ki-"
I gave her kick under the table.
"You forgot the age difference Quorra!" I pointed out.
"Well maybe you adopted!"
I shook my head. She was insane.
"What is she talking about?" Rix asked.
"Nothing!" I yelled before Quorra could say anything different.

"Ok, so Tasin, now that your here. Are you going to tell us what we have to do?"
"Yes."
She pulled out a school backpack. (what was with the whole school stuff?) and rummaged around in it.
She pulled out some papers and lied them on the table.
"Boy... for a five year old you sure do have some really nice handwriting." Quorra muttered.
"Thanks. Now here it is." She pulled a piece of paper out of the mess and showed it to us.
"The Fallen have agents everywhere as.... oh he's not here. Never mind. Um..."
Huh?
"Anyways The Fallen have agents everywhere. So your task is simple. Get in with them. Join up with them, then you can find out what their really doing, and how they plan to over take Dresher."
We all looked at her with dumbfounded faces.
"You want us.... to join up with them?" Savrin asked. Tasin nodded.
"Yes.... I'll be in there with you, they won't be able to see me but you guys will."
"do you think that's the best thing to do? I mean they're the ones that want us dead right?" Quorra pointed out.
"Yes. Which makes this plan even better because they would never expect you to join up with them."
We all seemed to take a deep breath and lean back in our seats.
"Well I'll be your outside man. I can't go back in because I uh.... I put a ruffle in their feathers." Rix said.
Tasin nodded.
"Good. They'll need you. One more will be joining up with you who already knows the lay out of the land." She turned to me with her brown eyes. "You'll know what to do when you get to Vecina."
I wasn't really sure what that meant but I nodded anyway.
"where will we find them?" Savrin asked.
"Ah... Now this is the lay out of the city...."

For the entire train ride (which was about three or four hours) we planned and planned and planned.
But by the end of it we had everything laid out like a map. One step right after another. But we couldn't do anything till we found this new member.... and it was up to me to find him.
Yet I had no clue what I was doing!! I didn't even know where to start!!

Rain.... Ever falling... Like our memories

Things were going slowly. I was still trying to make out what had just happened in the train. And in the train station.
How did he end up here if he's only a figment of my imagination?
And how did I end up.... where ever it is that you are?
I finally decided that the Creator wanted to show me something, or he wouldn't have opened that door.
Though I was glad he did.

I guess.... I was different after that experience. My lips still tingled, and your name was running it's self over and over in my head. Just in case.
But I still had big questions. Ones that I wanted answering. but the biggest question I still have is....
"When are you coming home?" I asked to the wind.
I looked up at the sky as I did. The sun beat down on my face. I closed my eyes and soaked up it's rays.
I wanted to be happy that I had been able to see you again.
That I remembered you.
But... in the pit of my stomach, was a knot that just wouldn't go away.
I got the feeling that something bad was happening.
I want to say that it was happening to me but.... that's not exactly true.... it's happening to my other half.... the half that I gave up when I brought you back.
Uh-oh.

"Zaydie what is wrong?!" Quorra cried. I turned to her on my skateboard. We had been running over grass and hills for the past two hours with out a break.
"Hmm?"
"Your mopping! Your all gloomy and I can't stand it!" She complained. "I don't even know why your mopping! You just are! Come on let me in!" She reached over and knocked on my forehead for emphasize.
"It's nothing." I remarked, turning away.
"See?! That is not letting me in!"
I sighed.
"Something's wrong." I muttered.
"Huh? wrong with what? letting me in?"
I shook my head. "No.... with me." My hand clutched the ever-so-present medallion around my neck.
Quorra saw me and realization came onto her face.
"You mean.... him don't you?"
I nodded and looked up at my sister.
"yeah... He's in trouble, I can feel it. But I just don't know..... why or how to bust him out."
"Pray about it."
I looked to my left and found that Savrin had fallen next to me.
I nodded.
"Thanks Sav." I said wit ha smile.
"Oh sure. Let him in." Quorra muttered. I rolled my eyes and sped up. This gang's CRAZY!!!!
I sent up a prayer to the Creator. Asking him to show me what to do, and where to go. I could only hope he heard me.

Ridding around with headphones on, happy music pumping, isn't so bad! haha!
I messed around on the board and got to doing some tricks.
And when I wasn't, I was swaying to the music.
"You know that looks really weird when we can't hear the music." I jumped and turned around to see Rix laughing. I scowled and slapped his arm playfully.
"Humph."
"Zaydie, do you ever think he's coming back?" Quorra asked.
I sighed. "Maybe.....not..... I don't know."
I glanced back up at the sky and noticed dark clouds started to form.
Hmm.....
A storm was coming.

We traveled till the sky got so black that we started to look around for shelter.
"Over here!" Quorra yelled, jumping up and down. The rest of us zoomed over to her and found that she was pointing to a cave.
I swept my sense through the cave and found that nothing was in it.
"It's clear." I reported.
The boys went in first, and us girls followed.
It wasn't very big and we could only sit down. But at least it was dry.
I looked out side as it started to rain.
Rain, rain, rain.
It was hard too....
I sighed and hugged my knees.
"What are we going to do now?" Quorra asked, pulling her skirt farther down her knees as she looked out at the rain.
"We going to be bored." Rix stated as he lied down with his hands behind his head. Quorra groaned and flicked his head that was beside her.
"What? I'm just saying, till the rain goes away, we can't do anything." he said.
She rolled her eyes.
"Hey! Zaydie why don't you sing for us?" She asked.
I blushed and ducked my head.
"no, I don't really feel -"
"Oh come on! please?" She pleaded. "I'll even sing with you!"
I sighed, there was no arguing with her.
"What would you have me sing?"
She clapped her hands and squealed.
"Um..... I don't know. Pick a random song on your new TymPlyer."
I pulled the headphones down around my neck and looked at the screen on my TymPlyer.
I finally found one that I had been listening too.
"This one's mostly dance music but there's a little singing in it." I said. I then laughed a little as I played it out loud. "Not sure if you'll be able to keep up Quorra."
After the long intro, the words started.

"Pump it up.

Where the
DJ
rocks the
Floor

And the
Crowd
comes back for
More

Where the
Bass
Gets loud

That's the
Place
where I
Belong"

This was the part I wasn't sure about seeing as it went real fast!

"Spin it Back,
From the Top,

Spin it Back
For the Deck

Spin the Track
For the Pack

We need to
Pump it up
Pump it up"

Ok I did good. Haha. Quorra was getting into it, and I was turning the boys' heads.

"And I know you'll
Feel it
Too

'Cause this
Track
was made for
You.

Pump it up
Pump it up

We need to
Pump it up

You gotta
get the beat

You gotta
get going

You gotta
give it all you got

Pump it up
Pump it up

You need to
Pump it up"

This was were it got slightly weird.

"You gotta
track this beat

Your freakin'
the club"

Then music came on for a while and everyone was moving to it. Savrin was actually smiling for once and Matrix had sat up and was now bobbing his head.

"We need to
Pump it up."

Then the music ended.
Everyone was laughing and clapped their hands.
"Good job Zaydie! I didn't know you could sing that well and fast!" Savrin remarked. I shrugged.
"She has a gift." Rix said with a grin. He gave me a thumbs up.
I laughed.
"Well thanks. Though it's never really been of much use, but oh well." I said moving hair out of my face.
I starred back out at the rain, and the feeling in the pit of my stomach got stronger.
Oh boy.

                                                          +++++

The rain went on for quiet a while.
Everyone soon started to get restless and they tried lots of different things to entertain themselves.
But I finally pulled my pack off and used as a pillow and fell asleep.

I found it pretty normal now to end up on the beach. Though I thought it odd that the blond kid wasn't around.
I waded out into the ocean till it was at my knees then looked around the palm tree infested beach. (not that I don't like palm trees or anything)

He was suddenly there in a flash and he took one sweep of the beach and ran over to me.
"Zaydie! You have to help him!" I took a step back as he came close. His blue eyes were full of fear.
"Wait, what's going on?" I asked, pushing him back a little. He grabbed my wrists hard.
"He's going under! Havrin's pulling him down, and The Fallen aren't helping any!"
Once he said 'Havrin' I knew exactly who he was talking about.
I nodded and as soon as I did, he dragged me up the beach and ran for the cliff that surrounded the beach.
I screamed as he dragged me right to it head on. I felt for sure that we were going to hit it hard, but apparently not.
No, instead we ran right through it.

On the other side I found myself on a cliff's edge. I was still running so I had to throw my self backwards in order to stop myself from plummeting right over the edge.
I caught myself on my toes and quickly rose to my full height.
I glanced around and found you being cornered.
But it was.... confusing.
The older man that we had fought was there again, and then.... so was Havrin. Only he wasn't in you, yet..... he looked exactly like you did. (the black spiked hair, red eyes, black leather coat)

I took several steps forward, just enough to hear what was going on.
"You are stuck here Kylun. Deal with it!" Havrin yelled. You shook your head, sending your blond hair into a ripple.
"He's right. It doesn't matter what this "Creator" has promised you, or what you've promised her. Your mine!"
"Your wrong. I'll get back. If it's the last thing I do, I'll get back to her." You shouted back.
The old man laughed.
"I don't think so. Look at where you stand! And look back into your memories. She's better off with out you." He suddenly waved his hand and in front of him a swirling whirlpool appeared. Only it looked like glass, and in the glass was a video of Vegg, Quorra, and I dancing in the hide-out beneath the train station.
You stopped and starred.
I wanted to cry out, I wanted to tell you that no matter how happy I looked, I was still missing you more then anything.
But I was paralyzed.
I couldn't move..... again. (I wonder how many times I'll feel like that in life)

"See?" Havrin asked in a calm and soothing tone. "She has new friends, and has forgotten you. You should know that. She couldn't even remember your name."
"No." You said, but your voice faltered as you took another step back.
"Yes Kylun. Face the truth. There is no "Creator" and she's forgotten all about you. There's no reason for you to go back."
You shook your head. Like I do so often when I try to figure out if something is real or not real.
"There's no reason Kylun! Stay here! Here you have everything you could ever want!" Havrin yelled. "Ditch her," he slashed his hand behind the glass and it shattered. "Get someone else. Someone better that'll keep you on the right track. This track!"
"No... That's not true. I'd know if she's given up on me." You argued, taking another step back.
Closer to the edge. You were only a foot away.
"How would you know? I'm sure that if you looked deep down, you'd see the truth." The old man said. "See for yourself, she's moved on and forgotten about you."
He made another glass vortex thing, only this time it showed when Matrix called out to me in the train station and when I willingly gave him my hand.
I shook my head and turned back to you.
"She's gone! Deal with it!" Havrin stated, taking a step forward. You took a step back. And you slipped.
I dashed forward as you fell over the edge of the cliff.
It was like it was happening in slow motion. I couldn't seem to get there fast enough. I watched as you lost your footing and rocks gave way.
Havrin and the old man did nothing, and I dove for the edge as you fell past it fast.
I slammed into the ground, yet caught your hand just in time.

I gritted my teeth as my arm felt like it was about to get dislocated by the sudden weight.
I looked down and met your blue eyes.
"It's not true Kylun." I said as I tried to keep a grip on your gloved hand. "I might have a few laughs, but I never forget the feeling in the pit of my stomach that tells me something's missing."
I swung my other hand down and gripped yours with both of mine. I pulled up and tried to lift you. ('tried' being the key word there)
Your heavy!
Or maybe it's just the whole fact that gravity isn't really in my favor.....

I pulled you up far enough that I could use my elbows for leverage. I pulled more and moved to my knees.
I finally got you high enough that you could help out (ahem, ahem)
When I pulled you up high enough, you rolled over the edge and lied down in front of me.
"Don't let go of the Creator." I ordered with a serious face. "If you did then you really are lost. Even all the light in my heart won't be able to reach you." I added softer.
You looked up at me with a tender gaze and you reached for my hand. Intertwining our fingers, a wave of warmth washed over me. It felt kind of like a breath of fresh air that I had been waiting for.

"I didn't think you'd give up on me that easily." You remarked. I laughed.
"Nope. I'll never give you up. That's a promise. Just don't give up on me ok?"
You nodded.
"And I guess it's a good thing, because I always come just in the nick of time to save your life. What's this? the third time? You owe me big time." I remarked with a laugh. You chuckled and propped yourself up on to your elbow.
"And I promise I'll repay you when I get back."
I sighed.
"And when will that be?" I asked, not trying to keep the sadness out of my tone.
You glanced around.
"When you find this place again."
I looked around and memorized the place. Over the cliff was the palm infested beach. I glanced back over my shoulder and looked for land markers. There was a big oak tree that looked over a hundred years old. It's branches spread out like an umbrella.
And it was the only tree for miles.

I turned back to you quickly, which made my hair fly into your face.
"Good grief Zaydie! Get a hair cut already!" You teased as you spat hair out of you mouth.
I pulled my hair and twisted it around my fingers and tossed it behind me.
"Sorry! hair cut. Ha, I'll keep that in mind."
You shook your head with that same sly grin that'll probably never change.
"I'll see you again when you meet me here alright?" You asked.
I took a deep breath and nodded.
"Right where I promised to be when you came back ok? start looking there." I suggested.
You nodded and I rose to my feet, letting go of your hand.
"Hey, can I give you some advice?" You asked getting up with me.
I glanced over my shoulder and saw that Havrin and the old man had disappeared. Oh well, I had a feeling that I was going to bump into them again.
"In order to get down, you gotta take the stairs."
You gave me a wink and that two fingered salute and then I woke up again.

"What was that about?" I whispered to the night.
I looked up, everyone was still sleeping, but the sun had come out, and the knot in my stomach was gone.
I smiled and stepped outside. Welcoming the sunshine.
"Alright Kylun. I'll meet up with you soon." I said to the clear blue sky.

Nothin’ like déjà vu to jog your memory

The next morning Vegg took me to the music shop and we looked at tons of TymPlyer’s. They all in different colors and sizes it was crazy!

“Do you really think I should get one?” I asked. I had brought a little money with me and Vegg was right, they were cheep.
“Go for it! When was the last time you bought something for yourself?” She asked. I nodded. That was true. I have never bought anything for myself.
I walked over to one in a stand. It looked like someone had splashed red, blue, and green neon paint on a black background.
“I kind of like that one.” I said.
“And look, these are the perfect headphones!” Vegg reached up and brought down a pair of headphones that would cover my whole ear. There were what looked like lights that swirled around the headphones, green, blue, and red. With the maker’s logo in the middle.
“Those are really...”
“Cool!” Vegg finished for me. “Come on, their awesome! I would get them myself if I had the creds.”
I laughed and scooped up the headphones and the TymPlyer.
I marched right over to the counter and put them gently on the counter.
“Nice choice.” The cashier said as he rung me up.
“Thanks!” I answered, digging into my pouch and placing the creds on to the counter.
“Here you go. It’s all yours.”
I smiled and took the bag.
“Thank you!”
“Don’t mention it.”
Then Vegg and I headed back to the hide-out.

No one was there in the hide-out yet so we turned up the music and started to download things on to my new TymPlyer.
In less then an hour I had over a hundred songs on there and all of them were up beat and really catchy.

“What are you guys doing?” I turned to see the rest of the gang stumble into the room.
“Listening.” I answered. Savrin shot me a look.
“No really? Gosh I would have never guessed.”
I laughed. Quorra jumped over and started to move to the groove.
“Ok but we need to get going if we’re going to get anywhere today. The train to Basadi is leaving in ten minutes.” Matrix said, stepping over to the closet.
“Basadi?” I asked. Watching him. He nodded.
“Yeah. We go to Basadi, then we go on foot from there to Tyrul which will have another train so we can go from there on to Vecina.” He explained.
“Oh.” I muttered.
He opened the padlock and opened the doors.
“Here.” He handed me a skateboard with no wheels. It was blue and it glowed. It had a really cool design on it too.
“Whoa!” Savrin stated when he got his. (it was red) Quorra’s was green. “Nice.”
“Yup. here.” He handed us each a small pack. “It’s got pretty much everything we’re going to need. A sleeping roll, extra creds, a jacket, and a first aid kit.”
I looked down at this small pack.
“It has all that in here?” I asked, opening the flap.
“Yup. Looks can be deceiving.”
My head jerked up and I saw that he was just talking about the pack. Not anything else. Brother.
I slung it over my shoulders and turned to Vegg.
She opened her arms for a hug and I obliged.
“It was really, really neat meeting you guys!” She said enthusiastically.
“I hope we can meet you again some day soon.” Quorra responded. Giving the little girl a hug.
“Yeah that would be great! And remember if ever find yourselves in a systematical pickle, just pick up a phone.” She offered. We all nodded and she got a hug out of Sav.
“I’m leaving you in charge of my brother. I’ll blame you if he gets in trouble.” She teased, pointing an accusing finger at Savrin.
“And you!” She turned to her own brother with a hard look. “If you die I’m going to torment you in Paradise alright? You had better come home in one piece!” She threatened.
Quorra and I were trying very hard not to break out into fits of giggles.
Matrix nodded and gave his sister a hug.

Then with final good-byes to Mama Bear, we headed out of the hide-out and around the building to the front of the train station.
Walking up the big steps to get there, we walked through a moving door and stepped inside one of the fanciest rooms I had ever been in.
Matrix walked over to the window and requested four tickets to Basadi.
We all handed money over and received tickets.

To board the train, we had to have our bags searched and then walk through some kind of security thing.
But when we finally made it onto the train, we searched for an empty compartment.
There were two benches facing a table in each compartment, which was then closed off from the hall by a glass door.
Some of the glass was fogged so you couldn’t see who was inside. Kind of handy, yet freaky.

We finally found an empty one near the back and piled in. We stashed our boards and bags up on the bin holder above us and then we all sat down.
Quorra and I on one side, boys on the other.
It was early in the morning, so everyone started to nod off. I pulled out my new TymPlyer and put my wireless headphones on.
The music started and I gazed over Quorra and out the window.
I was starting to nod off myself when a massive headache crashed into my head.
I yanked my headphones off and cupped my hands on my head. Leaning forward I gritted my teeth to keep from screaming.

For a moment my vision blurred and I was suddenly, not in the train anymore.... I’m not really sure where I was.
I was in a black room, that had white lights on the walls. They looked like they were part of a design embedded in the black rock. On the ground some of the stones lit up white too.
Before me I saw two people fighting it out.
One was a whole ton younger then the other. The older man had short cropped grey hair, and the younger one had blond hair..... spiked up in a wave.....
I gasped.
The younger boy wore a black robe with a big zipper down the front, the older one wore a black expensive looking suite.
The older man had two ureci in his hands.
Ok that was just not right!

The younger boy had something black and red in his hand, but I couldn’t see it to well.
“Your pathetic. You’ll die before you ever see her again!” The older man yelled.
He locked the boy with his weapons, and started to put his weight into it.
No.... this was not happening again!!
I had.... seen this before, and I won’t let it happen again!
But before I could do anything the boy threw the older one off and did an air flip landing on his toes with his weapon out behind him.
I gasped as I finally was able to see the weapon.
It was a long staff that was about as tall as he was. Where he held on to it, red lights swarmed around it, making a handle that pulsed when he touched it.
A red ribbon was tied at the base of the top, on the end of it I saw something that gave me a bigger headache. A key.
At the top of the staff was a glowing white gem that swirled around like it was made of liquid.
I knew that weapon. I remembered that weapon!

The blond headed boy didn’t see me.
If he had that weapon.... that could only mean one thing. I had met that blond boy in my dreams before!
And I hadn’t even known it!

I watched as they two of them clashed against each other again.
The younger boy teleported behind the man and pushed him forward making him fall.
The man however was anticipating that. He reached out and grabbed a hold of the boy’s neck and drove an urica into his stomach..... oh this was so not happening!!

I summoned Zindra and aimed for the man. Believing with all my heart that the arrow would pierce the man’s arm. I let the arrow fly. And it hit it’s mark.
He yelled out in pain and dropped the boy.
The boy seemed to be blacking out. I ran over and called Takara. (shield form)
I stood in front of the boy and starred down the man.
“No.... that’s impossible.”
I flipped my shield into a sword.
“Believe it buddy.” I muttered.
I slashed down at the man and I met his ureci, which he pulled up in defense.
Keeping him locked was not a good idea.
so, I improvised.
I slid down and spun around on my toe, with my right leg out, knocking his feet right out from under him.
He was down momentarily.
I dashed over to the boy and placed my hand over his new wound.
“leave it up to you to die a second time.” I muttered, letting my healing power wash over him.
His blue eyes opened and focused on me.
“You are not doing that to me again!” I growled at him.
His eyes grew big in surprise and shock.
I sensed the old man get up and come at me. Only he was faster then I thought, and I didn’t even have time to turn around.
The boy pulled me down into his chest and raised Shiro.
There was a flash of light and I turned to see the old man knocked off his feet and fly across the room.
“Your not suppose to be here.” He muttered as we scrambled to our feet.
“What and miss out on a fight like this? ha yeah right!” I remarked taking up Takara again.
I felt his eyes on me, and I glanced over.
Boy it sure was weird to see him as a blond!
“Where’d you get the outfit?” He asked.
I glanced down at my white boots, and black skirt.
“A store.... where else would I get them?” I remarked with a sly smile.
He shook his head and we charged the old man.
He was now out numbered, and it was easy once the boy was healed. Try as I might, I still couldn’t get his name! It made me so mad!!

The man managed to get past Takara and had a hand around my neck, squeezing tight.
He searched my determined eyes.
Then chuckled.
“You don’t even remember his name. Pitiful thing!” He then tossed me to the ground.
Takara spun out of my hand, and the man came at me.
I started to crawl backwards trying to think of something.
“What? Come on Zaydie!” The boy yelled jumping over the man and standing in between me and him. “You don’t even remember my name?!”
I dove for my sword and locked my fingers around it.
I didn’t answer, instead we jumped the guy and knocked him to the ground. He was old, he couldn’t fight on for much longer.
And he didn’t. Soon he was lying on the floor holding a big wound on his chest and panting for breath.
Takara disappeared, and I turned the boy.
“I’ll give you a hint. It starts with a ‘K’.” He said with that same sly grin that you always wore. He then gave me a light kiss on the lips and then he and everything else started to fade.

I soon woke back up in the train. I was still in my seat and I saw everyone looking at me with concerned faces.
I glanced around and tried to remember if that was a dream or not.
No.... It wasn’t.
“Is that.... blood?”
I glanced down and saw that my left hand was covered in red blood.... his blood....
“Kylun.” I said, my eyes wide.
Quorra gasped.
“I remember!! I remember now!!” she shouted. Savrin didn’t say anything but I knew he did too.
I remember you clearly now.
I can’t believe I had forgotten! I remember your black spiked hair, the sly grin, and the silver-red eyes.
“Kylun...” I muttered. “Why on earth was his hair blond?!” Then I remembered something that I hadn’t seen before. “And.... an earring!! Oh this is so weird!!” I shouted, shaking my head.
“Um... Zaydie.... what’s going on? and you might want to go clean that hand.” Quorra pointed out. I looked down and remembered the, now dry, blood.
I sighed and pulled my black and white stripped warmer down over my hand and walked out of the room.

Creator... was that really him? Where is he? What is he doing there? Is he going to come.... back soon?
I prayed silently as I scrubbed your blood off my hands.
This was just getting to weird.
Yet.... what’s new?

Back in the compartment, I told them what I had seen.
“Wait, wait, wait. So you already know someone who’s with The Fallen?” Matrix asked.
“I - uh.... I didn’t ask. But I assume he must be.” I answered quietly.
“right.... okay then, well now that that’s cleared up!” He remarked sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes and looked out the window.
I sensed Savrin’s eyes on me along with Quorra’s.
I turned back to them.
“Did he say anything? do anything?” Quorra asked.
“He couldn’t believe I had forgotten his name.” I smiled and rubbed my arm.
“And?.... I know he did something else your blushing!” I turned around and slapped my sister.
“It’s none of your business.” I snapped.
“Oooh! He kissed you didn’t he?”
“Quorra! I’m going to kill you!”
Quorra leaned up against the wall and used her feet to ward me off.
I gave up and shook my head with a smile on my face.
I pulled my headphones back on and turned up the music.
I remembered.
I remember!!

I smiled as I starred out the window. I actually remember! Everything!!

                                                          ++++

After that, the trip went on with out a hitch. At least that particular train ride. I can't say for everything else though.

The train ride was nice, and soon we found ourselves in Basadi. We were one of the last ones off the train. Out of the train and in the open train station (it had no walls, just a roof)
My mind started to play tricks with me.
I saw a flash of blond spiked hair pass by me, for a moment he glanced down and gave me a wink, then in a flash he was gone.
I put my hands to my head and looked around. There were too many people. It was too loud. I couldn't even hear myself think!
"Zaydie?" I looked up and found Matrix beside me.
"It's... to loud." I managed to mutter through the pain.
I felt a hand in mine and glanced up as Rix started to lead me out of the station.

I never saw much of Basadi. Just a lot of buildings and loud people.
Savrin made the decision to get out of the city as fast as possible seeing as I wasn't doing so well.
It was all I could do to keep walking.
Once we were outside the city limits, and had walked enough distance that the noise died down, we rested so I could get rid of the headache.
"Are you ok? what happened?" Quorra asked, Bending down to her knees and sitting beside me.
".... he triggered something." I muttered.
"....Who?"
"The blond guy from my dreams. I saw him in the train station. And that's when the pain hit."
Quorra was quiet. I looked out at the, almost flat, plain we were going to cross.
Hills were every where, but they were just covered in grass. In a way, it looked like a sea, the hills I mean.
They rolled right after another, going on for as far as I could see. The green grass went on forever as well. I couldn't see the ocean, or smell the salt yet.
But... maybe soon....

                                                    Friends with the Fallen?

I will say for Savrin’s sake, that he did get onto me for that. But come on! It was an awesome stunt if I do say so myself. Haha.

Back underneath the train station I found that Matrix had taken off the robe and now had on jeans with navy blue tennis shoes.
He had on a navy blue long sleeved shirt that was shoved up past his elbows, with a white shirt over top of it. The white shirt had a intricate design running from the bottom of the shirt, on the left side and stopping at his shoulder. And then the same design was on his right sleeve only.
On his head he wore a..... a baseball cap, sort of. It was navy blue and it had a small brim. Then the material from the hat kind of sloped down on the brim, and a little in the back too.

Vegg had put on some fast beat music, which had all of them (including MB) swaying to the beat. Quorra was stomping it out and making her own routine. Which then Vegg jumped up and in with her. I smiled as I set my board down against the wall.
“Hey Zaydie! do you know this artist?” Quorra asked over the music.
I went and looked at the computer screen that had the song up.
I shook my head.
“Nope. But I like him.”
Quorra gave me a thumbs up as she kept moving.
Rix moved over to our boards and started to look at them.
He and Savrin struck a conversation that I couldn’t hear over the music.
I shook my head and turned to the two girls.
We then started to get to dancing and got it going pretty good.
“I need to get some music and stuff. I would be listening to this all the time.” I remarked.
“you can! a TymPlyer isn’t much these days, and they hold 8. something megabits.”
I had no clue what a megabit was but ok.
“I’ll show you the store before you leave, then you can download any songs you’d like from my library on the computer.”
I smiled at her.
“Thanks Vegg. I might just do that.”
She nodded.
She must have glanced outside, or at the clock, because then she gasped and ran over to the couch and scooped up a book bag.
“I’m going to be late! I’ll see you guys latter!!” She yelled over her shoulder. She then tossed a hovering skateboard onto the floor and zoomed off down the streets.
“I’m going to assume she meant school.” Quorra said, watching the street that Vegg had disappeared down as the tarp flapped around in the wind.
“Yeah. She’s in eighth grade right now. Top of her class.” Rix explained. I noticed him beam with pride.
“She your little sister?” I asked turning to him. He nodded.
“My one and only.”
I smiled.
“So, what’s next?” I asked. “No wait, I have a question for you Rix. Why were you wearing all that black?”

Rix then went on to explain that he had been working for this organization called The Fallen.
Only he didn’t anymore because he got the info he needed and had quit.
The Fallen were the ones that wanted us dead.
He said they had agents all over the place. And that there were tons of them!
Including the Puppeteer.
(That would explain Valadamir’s ramblings about “they have decided” and all. Well at least it answers the ’who’ but the ’what’ comes next)

The Fallen have been multiplying over time for a while now, and they were growing larger and larger. And as they do they spread to all corners of Dresher. And the only ones that could stand up against them.... would be us..... oh bother.

“Ok then... so what are we going to do?” I asked. “I mean....what are we suppose to do against these people?”
“Look, right now the best thing you can do is bring hope to the people that don’t have any. I mean think about it, harpies have been roaming around the streets of the smaller towns and cities for a while now. They need someone to come in and take care of that.” Rix pointed out. Mama Bear nodded.
“And don’t ever forget that prayer is your strongest weapon.” She added. “The Creator can do anything. You just have to ask.”
I nodded.
“So.... again, what are we going to do now?” Quorra asked.
We were all silent for a while.
Good question.
“Hey, remember what Tasin said?” I asked. “She said that the Puppeteer’s ties were the strongest in Lothomer, Ulrikima, and Vecina. So why not head to one of those?”
“Oh yeah...” Quorra muttered. Sav nodded.
“Ok which one’s closest?” He asked.
Mama Bear got up and walked over to the computer. She pulled up a map and beckoned for us to come over.
“this is where we are.” She pointed to a red blip on the screen. “And Vecina is here.” She pointed to another blip a little ways away on the map.
“It would take about two or three days travel to get there. You would also be passing through several other cities and towns, so you can help fend off the harpies as you go, right?”
I turned to Sav and Quorra. She shrugged.
“Why not? Couldn’t hurt right? And hey, we might find something out. And look!” Quorra pointed back to Vecina. “It’s by the ocean!! The real ocean!!”
I grinned and a sudden flash back to my last words to you came through my mind.
“I’ll be waiting... for you... if you come here.... you’ll find me... I promise.”
It might be false hopes, but I couldn’t help but get butterflies in my stomach. Maybe, just maybe, you might find me there. Just as I promised.

“Well, I’m coming with you.”
I spun on the heels of my new boots (which made a squeaky sound.) My eyebrows rose as I looked at Rix.
“Are you sure? What about Vegg?” Quorra asked.
“We live with Mama Bear anyway, so you can take care of her right?” He asked, turning to the old lady.
“Of course. I would love to take care of her.” She chuckled. “Seeing as I’ve been doing it sense she was five.”
We all smiled.
“Well, ok if you really want to. But don’t say we didn’t warn you.” I said with a shrug.
“Cool. We leave tomorrow. You can bunk down with us if you want.” Matrix offered. We nodded our thanks.
“Tomorrow we’ll stop by here before heading out on the trains. I have something that might be easier to carry then those air boards.” He said, gesturing to the boards leaning against the wall.
Hmm....

                                                              ++++

We spent the night on the floor, which was fine with me. I really could care less, I was just exhausted.
As soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell into lala-land.

The blond head boy was there again. And again he told me to trust him.
I hesitated a moment, but finally put my hand in his.
He smiled down at me, and the sun shone through the clouds, the fog disappeared and I saw that we were now standing in the sand on the beach, with a palm tree over our heads creating shade.
“Who are you?” I asked. He looked down at me with a smile.
“I’m you.”
My jaw dropped.
“Huh?”
He laughed. There was something.... familiar about him.... something that I knew I should know in an instant, only.... I couldn’t put my finger on it.
“You’ll find out soon enough.”
“Humph. Everyone’s saying that.” I muttered, looking out at the ocean waves crashing against the shore.
“Just remember Zaydie, the shadows hold secrets.”
I looked up at him as something struck me as really, really odd.
“I’ve heard that one before.”
He laughed and interlocked his hands behind his head and leaned back on his left foot.
Memories washed over me giving me a headache.
“ah!” I clutched my head as images swirled around behind my eyes.
In one I could almost make out your face, but then it slipped away again. Along with the headache.
I lowered my hands and glanced at the boy again. From this angle he looked....
“Who are you? you look vaguely familiar.... but I know for a fact that I’ve never met you before. So why are you in my dreams?!” I asked with my hands on my hips.
“You have met me before. You just don’t know it yet.”
“Oh? And when I did I supposedly meet you before?”
He locked me in his gaze with his amazing blue eyes.
“You should know the answer to that. Seeing as we were so tight.”
That..... did not help a thing.
“You need to look beyond the outer appearances Zaydie. Because if you don’t, you might miss the biggest blessing the Creator has given you.” He said, turning back to the ocean.
I shook my head, trying to get rid of all the confusion.
“See you around Zaydie.” He said with a two fingered salute, then he ran off down the beach.
And I woke up.
I looked around and saw Savrin and Quorra were still sleeping.
“Wow.... that was really, really weird.” I muttered.

                                                     I’m Free Falling

I'm afraid to say that most of the outfits Savrin tried on, did not work for him!

Most of them were very bold, and odd looking.
"Don't you have something more....subtle?" He asked as he walked out in a green and blue outfit.
"No darling, it's all bold, bold, bold! For the most part. But I might have something, hang on just a moment." She then rushed off again.
Quorra giggled as she did hand motions to the techno music going on.
"Don't laugh! Its' very... uncomfortable." Savrin said in his defense.
"Ha. Right. Well ok then! I'll keep that in mind." she muttered as she did a back flip and landed in a single-handed hand stand.
Savrin shook his head and Mama Bear came back.

Handing over another outfit, he headed back inside the dressing room.
But when he came out I immediatly rose eyebrows.
Quorra's jaw dropped as she stood back up.
"Whoa! Nice. I like it." She said with a big smile.

Savrin wore a black sleeveless shirt, with black cargo pants that had two green pouches attached to his leg by brown straps, near the bottom of the pants where a bunch of pockets and he wore them with a brown belt. He had a green band around his arm to cover his Mark.
But what really gave the outfit character, was the green cape that was strapped on by a brown leather strap.
His six-inch boots reminded me of his old ones that he had a while ago.
"That's... one snazzy outfit." I remarked with a laugh.
"Yeah. I like it. Thanks Mama Bear."
She nodded and handed a few affects. A pair of gloves and some goggles.
"You never know when they'll come in handy." She said as he put them (the goggles) on the top of his head.
I gave him a thumbs up.
"A very fitting look for you." He grinned.
"My turn!" I shouted, turning to Mama Bear. That made her laugh.
I told her where my Mark was and then she shuffled off yet again.

It took several tries, but I finally found an outfit I liked.
I had two shirts on. One was a black tank-top, and the other was a neon green loose fitting one over top of it. It had one short sleeve, and then it didn't have another. Instead it was a green plastic strap that went over my right shoulder and kept the shirt in position.

I wore a black pleated school looking skirt, with built in shorts. It had a black belt that had two holes side by side, instead of the usual, one. And the holes were lined with silver metal, and the edges of the belt looked like a zipper.
Your medallion laid against the neon green giving it a little color. (besides the green I mean. duh.)
On my feet I wore glossy white boots with black laces that came up to about my knees, they had black soles too, so it gave them an interesting look.

I walked out of the dressing room a little nervously, clutching my hands in front of me.
"Aw! you look so cute!" Quorra exclaimed, clapping her hands in front of her and hopping up on one foot.
Mama Bear nodded and handed me something.
It was black and white stripped, and looked like an arm for a shirt, only there wasn't a shirt that it was attached to.
"Here deary."
Mama Bear helped me pull it up on my arm that didn't have the sleeve of the green shirt. (my left)
She pulled it up to about my bicep, and then it went down my arm and stopped at my wrist.
She then handed me a red pouch that I slipped onto my belt.
“There’s some creds in there so if you need anything.”
I nodded my thanks.
“I love it. It’s really comfortable.” I remarked. Spinning around with my arms out.
“I do too!” Quorra stated.
I smiled and turned to Sav. “What do you think?”
He took a deep breath and crossed his arms.
He started to walk around me with a very serious face.
“It’s a little short, how do you plan to fight in it?”  He asked on his second turn.
“It has built in shorts underneath.” I answered, turning my head to follow him.

He suddenly tickled my ribcage with made me giggle. Which in turn, only made him do it more.
“Stop! Savrin, stop it!” I cried through the laughing fits.
Savrin did, and I saw Mama Bear ask Quorra a question, which made her laugh.
“No, their just best friends. Have been sense they were kids.” Quorra answered.
I blushed a little when I figured out Mama’s question.
“Oh... is there anyone?” She asked quietly. Quorra glanced at me. I gave a slight head nod.
“yeah. I believe there is.”
Then I really blushed when memories came to mind. The most powerful one being what you did right after I healed you.
I never thanked you for that.
So... Thanks! haha.

“Oh? and who might this young man be?”
I smiled and stepped over.
“I....I wish I could tell you.” I said sadly. “But I can tell you that he’s the third One.” I added quickly.
Mama’s face turned grave.
“I see.” She turned to Quorra. “Well, come along dear. I believe it’s your turn.” Mama Bear then walked off.
What did that mean? why was she all gloomy all of a sudden? I asked myself.

Quorra’s outfit was real cute on  her.
She had on a skirt as well. (which did have shorts under it) And again it was black, and it had white ruffles on the bottom.
She had on a black tank-top, with a green button up one over it. (though it looked dull compared to my neon one. So obviously it wasn‘t neon) The green one was full of black lace and ruffles as well.
And then over top of that she wore a thin white jacket tied together with a bow.
On her feet she wore black boots with purple laces.

When she came out she struck a pose and we all laughed at her.
She jumped around and did several back flips.
“Yup! It’ll work!” she exclaimed.
Then both of us did several back flips, and landed on our feet giggling.
“We’re good!” I said, giving Sav and Mama a thumbs up.
Mama laughed and gestured us over to the salon part of the store.
“Who’s up for a new do?” She asked. Us girls shot our hands up in the air. Where as Savrin shook his head.
“I’m set Mama. Thanks though.”
She smiled.
“I figured as much. Girls what would you like?”
“I don’t want a cut.” We both said in unison.

Quorra ended up with long pig-tails tied up with purple ribbons.
I wasn’t really sure what to do with mine, so Mama just wrapped a silver ribbon around a section of hair near my face.
She then handed me a comb and I slipped it in my pouch.
“You have such long hair, wouldn’t want it to get into knots.” She remarked. I nodded.
“Yeah it’s a pain if it does.”

“Thanks so much for all of your help Mama Bear!” Quorra said, slinging an arm over Savrin's shoulder. I shook my head and laughed.
“Yeah thanks, we owe you a lot.” She shook her head.
“No. Just run your race. And that’ll be thanks enough.”
I smiled and nodded.
“Now, I believe it’s time to meet the rest of the team.”
I was eager to meet this team. I trusted Mama Bear. She was like the grandma I never had.

                                                            ++++

Mama Bear took us through back allies. It was like she didn’t want us to be seen. Which, considering what she had said earlier, I guess was a good thing. Sense she was keeping us out of trouble.

She led us around for about an hour when we started to hear trains.
“They have trains here?” Quorra asked.
Mama nodded.
“yeah. The train tracks are all over Dresher. Except for Konsor, because of some idiotic president who failed to see beyond his city limits. But yes, there everywhere. Practically every town has a track.”
I glanced at Sav and Quorra. They rose their eyebrows. Hmm....

Mama Bear led us to the back of the train station. Which was really, really loud!
She took us down an ally where we came to a dead end that was cluttered with trash.
“Why did you lead us... to a dead end?” Savrin asked with a hint of suspicion.
“Who said anything -” she lifted a wood panel that was lying against the wall of the train station. I jumped over and helped her lift it and slide it across the ground.
Behind it was a tarp.
“ - about it being a dead end?” She finished. The three of us gapped as Mama disappeared behind the tarp.
Savrin (being the guy) went first, I followed second, with Quorra, who was biting her nails, behind me.

Inside, natural sunlight filled a large room. Half of it was taken up by pipes and boxes. Though right in front of the gapping hole in the wall that acted like a door, was the only area that was clean from boxes and pipes.
Under the window on the right wall sat a run-down couch that looked like it use to be green.
On the far side of the room, sat a computer monitor with a keyboard built into the desk.
I noticed a tall closet in a dark corner out of the corner of my eye. It had a shiny new padlock on it.
Hmm.... wonder what could be in there.

“Oh! MB, I’m so glad your here!” We all turned to see a small girl sitting in the swivel chair in front of the computer.
She had turned around and now faced us with a pixie face.
She had short brown hair that she pulled up into a small pony tail, though bangs and a few strands of hair that was too short to go into the pony tail, fell around her face.
She wore a blue school uniform with a skirt and a white short sleeve shirt along with a short sleeved blue jacket.
She wore white stockings on her feet with brown shoes.
“Oh! new recruits?” She asked, smiling up at us. Which made her big brown eyes sparkle. MB shook her head. “Oh....um....ok.... Hi there. I’m Vegg.” She stood up and held out a hand.
I smiled back and shook it.
“Hi Vegg, I’m Zaydie. This is my sister -”
“Quorra. Nice name by the way.” My sister interrupted.
Vegg smiled and nodded.
“Thanks. What’s your name?”
She asked, turning to Sav.
“Savrin.” he answered with a chin-up nod.
Vegg smiled.
“So what are you all doing here in Mecca?”
“Well we’re actually -” I was interrupted by someone walking in.
I turned my head and found a boy standing behind us.
“I figured out some of what the Fallen is up to. It’s insane! They want to take over Dresher just like we suspected. But there’s one thing their freakishly afraid of...”
He finally noticed the three of us.
He was dressed in a black trench coat that fell to his ankles. He wore a black hoodie under that, the hood was up casting a shadow which prevented me from seeing his face.
Under the hoodie (which was left unzipped) he had on a navy blue plain shirt.
He wore black cargo pants with army boots as well.

The boy tossed back his hood and looked at all of us.
He had brown eyes, and short yet shaggy brown hair. He looked like he could be related to Vegg. Probably was.
He wore a cocky grin that reminded me so much of you I wanted to scream, laugh, and cry.

“Who’s the hottie?” He asked turning to Mama Bear, yet gesturing to me. My jaw dropped and my wits came back.
“Um, you have to excuse his crude manners.” MB apologized.
“No it’s ok.” I said, keeping my eyes on the kid.
“But I have to warn you kid. This “hottie” has a name. So you had better learn it. ‘cause if you don’t, you won’t have a jaw left!” I threatened with my hands on my hip. The boy chuckled.
“Feisty. You sure do know how to pick ‘em Ma. I’m Matrix. Or Rix. You are?” He asked.
“Zaydie’s the feisty one, Quorra’s her sister. And I’m Savrin.” Sav introduced.
Quorra gave me a thumbs up.
“Nice going sis.”
I let out a small smile.
“Ok. Zaydie. Sorry about that. Let’s start over.” He suggested. I crossed my arms and looked at him.
“Fine. But if I catch you calling me that again, you’ll get hurt.” I warned. He nodded.
“I believe you. So what are you guys doing here?”
“I brought them here because they are what we’ve been waiting for.” MB cut in. Looking at us with a smile.
Rix and Vegg turned to us in disbelief.
“Your kidding right?” Vegg asked. I gave her a smile and shrugged. “You three are the... Chosen Ones?”
“Uh, they are. I’m not.” Quorra inturrupted.
“How do we know this isn’t some kind of scam?” Rix asked. Crossing his arms.
“I saw their Marks for myself. It’s no scam Matrix.” MB put in.
“Mama, it’s not that I don’t trust you but still....”
I turned to Savrin with a hand on my hip.
“so you need proof?” I asked. Rix gave a curt nod.
“Alrighty then.” I turned to Matrix. “Hit me.” I ordered. He looked slightly taken aback.
“What?!”
“Hit me.”
Rix hesitated a moment, then jumped forward. I quickly pulled up my armor, and turned blue in the process.
Rix punched solid ice and pulled back a bloody hand.

Gasps ran around the room.
“Sorry about that, here let me fix you up.” I said to Matrix. Holding out my hand.
“Will -”
I shook my head.
“No it won’t hurt. I promise.”
He gave me his hand slowly and i used my healing Power. Gold light spilled out of my finger tips as I ran them across his bloody knuckles.
“See? Good as new.” I said. Letting go of his hand.
He starred at it for a moment before his normal playful face came back.
“Handy. What about you?” He turned to Savrin.
“Control over transportation, and the ability to sense what’ll happen in a battle.” He didn’t mention his third.
Well, neither did I, so I guess we’re ok for the time being.
“Isn’t there suppose to be three of you?” Vegg asked.
I looked down at the floor and interlocked my hands behind me.
I felt Quorra’s hand on my shoulder.
“He’s not here anymore.” Sav answered for me.

I might not remember your name, or your face. But the feelings are still strong. And it’s heart breaking to think that you are gone and I might not be able to see you again.
“What happened? were you guys tight? what was his name?” Vegg questioned.
Everything faded out, and the voices dulled.
New heartaches crashed over me. I can’t even answer those easy questions!

“Zaydie?” I looked up and saw that Quorra and Vegg were watching me with concerned faces.
“I - Um... I’ll - I’ll be right back.” I muttered as I moved to the tarp.
Quorra started to follow me. I spun on my heel and put out a hand, palm out.
“Stay.”
She gave me a look, but didn’t follow me.

I found myself sitting on a tall roof with my feet dangling over the edge a little while latter.
Thousands of thoughts and feelings ran through me.
Tears welded up and so did the feeling that half of me was missing. Like it had been taken far away, and I have no idea where!

“I can always find you on a roof.” I turned to see Savrin walk over and sit down next to me.
“What’s wrong?” He asked pulling me close.
“I’m forgetting Sav.”
“Forgetting what?” I pulled away and looked him square in the face.
“Do you remember him? The third Chosen One?” I asked. Sav looked confused.
“I remember him being a real pain, and that had a major crush on you. I remember that he was a great fighter, and that he was willing to sacrifice himself to save you.”
“But do you remember his name? Or even his face?” I asked desperately.
Savrin hesitated, then shook his head.
“No.”
I broke down and buried my face in my hands.
“Neither do I!” I shouted. “Neither do I. And I feel horrible because I have a feeling that we made a promise. A big important promise, but I don’t remember what it was!”
Savrin pulled me in for a hug.
“I’m sorry Zaydie. I’m sorry.”
“I use to dream about him. Every night. But now he’s gone. and in his place is a blond guy that I’ve never met before.”
Savrin took a hold of my shoulders and held me out at arms length.
“A blond guy you’ve never met is in your dreams?” He asked.
I nodded.
“Does he say anything?”
I was about to say no when I suddenly remembered him being very demanding.
“’Trust me.’”
Savrin was quiet for a moment.
“Well maybe you should.” He said finally.
“What?”
“Maybe you should. Trust him I mean.” He repeated. “I mean think about it, if he took his place, then maybe he knows something about where he disappeared.”
I was quiet for a moment. I nodded. That made sense.
“Alright. I’ll try it.”
I took a deep breath and looked over the city.
“Well come on. We don’t want to keep your sister freaked.”
I grinned and stood up.
“Sav, I have a question.”
He stood up and cocked his head.
“yeah?”
“Do you trust me?”
“Yeah. Duh.”
I held out a hand.
“Prove it.”
He looked from my hand to me.
“What are you -” He shook his head and laughed. He placed his hand in mine. As soon as he did I did a flip over the edge of the roof.
Savrin yelled.
I moved around so I was falling head first.
“Zaydie! What are you doing?!” He cried out from next to me.
I shot out my other hand and tugged on two of our air boards.
I made them come right to where we were. I angled back a little and my feet met the board.
I pulled Savrin down on his own and we were forced to our knees from the force of gravity.
I laughed as we zoomed up into the air.
“I told you to prove it.” I said looking over at Savrin. His face still told me that he was in shock.
“Ok.... and I did. But don’t ever do that again!”
I grinned and stood up on my board.
I angled it strait up.
It zoomed up into the air.
I dove it in and out of people already in the sky, till I was above them.
“Zaydie! Be careful!” Savrin yelled after me.

I shot it strait through the air, till it came above the clouds.
I looked up at the pure blue and the golden sun.
“Hello Father.” I said. I then jumped away from my board and was suspended in air in an arch. I then fell down to the ground.
Passing through the clouds, I saw Mecca down below me. It was small, but getting bigger by every passing second.
I saw people air surfing, some showing off, others just trying to get somewhere.
I then spotted Savrin’s new green cape in the wind.

I extended my arms out like I had wings.
I’m free falling.

I was free falling closer and closer to Sav. It was when I got close enough to see the shear look of horror on his face that my board caught up with me.
I landed on one knee with my hands gripping it’s sides.
I then zoomed inches away from Savrin’s face.
I gave him a wink and then sped my way to the train station
Nothing like a little adrenaline pumping through your veins to get your head cleared. Haha.

A fresh start in a new world

I did manage to fall asleep. But that blond kid was in it again. So it wasn’t exactly peaceful. I was just relieved when I woke up the next morning.

I was the first one up. Anticipating the journey ahead, I threw on some comfortable jean shorts with a t-shirt and my boots.
I called Brax and Sav, telling them to come over for breakfast.
Then I started cooking egg omelets and bacon. (Apparently I’m famous for them)

“Oohh.... that smells good.” Quorra muttered as she followed her nose into the kitchen.
“The boys are coming over in a few minutes.” I warned. She squealed and ran of to our bedroom we shared. Shouting “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!”
I shook my head and flipped an omelet.

Quorra immerged from the room again with her long blond hair wet from her shower. She too, just wore blue running shorts and an orange tank-top along with boots.
Brin came out of her own bedroom wearing a skirt and a loose fitting blouse.
Lately she had cut her black hair short, so now it came to her chin and curled under. I liked it, and so did everyone else.

The boys came walking through the front door with out even knocking. (they simply hollered at us)
Braxlin is a little more open these days, he doesn’t wear his Shieven uniform anymore. (None of us do) now he wears jeans and loose t-shirts.
His hair is long and in his face, but I don’t really care. though it does hide his eyes which is a little annoying at times.

He immediately walked up to Brinlynn and wrapped his arms around her waist.
I smiled and looked away as the shared one of those “special moments”
They’re engaged!!
It happened right after you left. And it  happened quite suddenly too actually.
But us “kids” are happy for them. Now I’m just waiting for Sav to ask my little sis. Haha. (not sure if that’ll ever happen, but the Creator’s ways are a mystery.)
“Alright you two, come eat before it gets cold.” I called as I balanced three plates on each arm.
I slid the plates down the table as everyone sat down.

With Brax at the head of the table, he led us in prayer.
“Dear Creator,
We thank you for this beautiful day you have blessed us with. Thank you for the breath you have given us and one more day to live. Thank you for the blessings you’ve given us, and thank you-” Brin cleared her throat and nudged his arm. “And.... thank you for this amazing food that Zaydie has made for us. Amen!”
We all opened our eyes and dug in. (if we had left Braxlin to his prayer he would go on forever!)

“I have some really exciting new guys!” I called out, not even touching my food.
They all looked up expectantly.
“I saw Tasin last night!”
Immediately everyone pelted me with questions. I was finally able to tell them what Tasin had told me last night.
When I finished, I noticed Brax and Brin exchange glances, but Savrin and Quorra were ecstatic!

“She said she would show up today-”
“Oohh! bacon! may I?” I jumped as Tasin suddenly appeared in my lap.
I laughed and gave her the sixth plate.
“It’s all yours.”
She giggled and gobbled down her food in less then five seconds.
The gang waited painfully (I could tell) till she finished. she finally did and Quorra was the first to hug her.
“I’m so glad to see you again! It’s been way to long!” Brin said, bending down and giving her a squeeze.
Tasin giggled as Brax tickled her.
“Me too. And now, are you ready for a brand new adventure that’ll take you beyond the borders of Konsor?” She asked, turning to all of us.
Brin cleared her throat.
“About that, Brax and I can’t go with you guys this time.” She sounded so down that I set Tasin down, and gave her a hug.
“That’s alright Brin. We guessed as much. You both have a lot of planning to do! and we wouldn’t want either of you to get hurt. Especially before your big day.” I said with a grin.
“But who’s going to watch you guys?” Braxlin asked.
“Me! what do you think I’m here fore? other then to keep them from getting lost of course.” Tasin piped up.
We all chuckled.
“Also, the Creator knows what was, what is, and what will be. So long as all of you trust in Him. All things will be taken care of.” She exclaimed. We all smile and nodded.
“Alright Tasin. We leave them in your hands, and the Creator’s.” Braxlin said.
We all said our good-byes to the couple. Made promises to come to back in time for the wedding, and then watched the two of them leave.

“What do we have to do this time?” Quorra asked, addressing Tasin.
“It’s time to see the real Dresher.”
Quorra, Sav, and I exchanged glances of wild amazement.
“Are you serious?” Quorra asked. Tasin nodded.
“Don’t bring anything that’ll slow you down. We leave immediately.”
We all jumped up and ran about, trying to figure out what we were going to need.
“Don’t bother bringing a pack. There are some people you will meet that will take care of that.” Tasin said.
I nodded and my hand automatically went to the silver medallion that had a boy and girl fighting a dragon on it.
Your medallion.
I turned to Tasin.
“I’m ready.”
“We all are.” Quorra said, poking her head into the room.

                                                    ++++

Savrin got all of us air boards, and soon we were all surfing the air, and on our way out of Konsor.

Even just surfing was the best thing I had done in almost a year!
I felt like a bird set free!
Or like a girl who hadn’t seen the sun till now.

We all enjoyed the wind whipping through our hair as we flew across the sky side by side.
I glanced at Savrin to my left, his hair had grown out and now naturally spiked kind of like yours.

Personally, I couldn’t stand your hair. haha, I’m sorry but I couldn’t. It was always in your face, and kept me from seeing your eyes.
But somehow... Savrin pulled it off quite nice.
No offense!

Konsor disappeared below and soon we were crossing over green grassy plains, meadows dotted with yellow and pink flowers.Tree covered hillsides
But what I loved the most was the sky.
It was pure blue! Not grey or black!
Can you imagine a pure blue sky?! It’s like Konsor had a tarp over it, and once I left, so did the tarp.
I could see the white fluffy clouds, and it just made me think of how amazing the Creator is! And how creative He is! It’s mind blowing!

“The next city would take two days to get there on foot, but seeing as Savrin was so nice to get us these boards, we’ll be able to make it there in maybe an hour.” Tasin explained.
I couldn’t help but think.... if you were still here you could have made this go a lot faster.

It didn’t take long to get to the city. And when we did, we found that we weren’t the only ones air surfing.

The city was all high round buildings made of complete smooth glass.
People here either fly on air boards, or walk the streets.
But I was shocked by several things.
1) - the sheer volume of people and how loud they were.
2) - how they dressed was... interesting.
There was a wide verity of styles, from complete black to neon!

All of our jaws dropped when we came to land.
“Oh... my... gosh.” I muttered as I looked around at all of the people and the buildings.
“First thing’s first.” Tasin exclaimed, pulling at my hand. “You stick out like a sore thumb.”
I glanced over at Quorra and Savrin. I touched her arm and she snapped out of her gaze. Bringing Sav with her.
Tasin moved us through the busy streets, weaving us in and out of the people bustling by.

She slipped inside a store and I quickly followed her before I lost sight of her.
Inside the store I froze.
The store front looked tiny, but inside it was HUGE!!!!
There were racks after racks of clothes on the left side of the store from the front all the way to the back of the rectangular room.
Then on the right side of the room was what looked like a hair salon.

A heavy set woman wearing a full blue, flower print skirt came running forward. She wore a blouse that was slightly tight, and a lot of cheep looking gold jewelry.
She had high cheek bones that would have given her a nice complexion if she was 20 years younger. (and that is all I’m going to say on the matter)
Her hair must have been brown at one point in life, but now it was mixed with grey. It was also cut short and styled....different.

"Hello darlings - Oh my goodness gracious! Look at you poor things!" She exclaimed, dashing forward and looking us all over.
"You must have been desperate if you had to wear these rags!"
We all exchanged wild glances, and looked down at our clothes.
"Are you new here in Mecca?" she asked, whipping out a tape measure and she started to take our measurements.
"Um... yes ma'am." Sav answered a little confused, as the lady measured his waist.
"Ah that would explain it."
"No don't!" We all shouted as she pulled up Savrin's jacket sleeve. Reveling his Mark of the Deity. Pakima. The three-linked rings.
The lady gasped and faced him. Who quickly pulled down his sleeve.
"... Are - are you a Chosen One?"
Sav glanced at me, then to Tasin, who nodded.
"Yes ma'am. We both are." He gestured to me.
Tears started to spill down her cheeks as a smile spread across her face.
"I'm so glad your finally here. We've waited so long."
I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.
"But don't worry. your secret's safe with me. There are a few that are eager to meet you, and are willing to help."
"Wait, so they know why we're here?" Savrin asked.
The lady nodded. "Of course. Everyone has eagerly awaited for you. But I must warn you. Not everyone will want you to accomplish  your race that the Creator has set before you. Some will even try to kill you.
But every where all around Dresher are people willing to help. Starting with me."
The lady took us to the back of the store.
"I'm Mama Bear." She said as she looked through racks.
I glanced back at Savrin and Quorra, who were trying to hid fits of laughter.
"yes, I know very mysterious. But we all have code names." She explained.
"I'm Zaydie. This is my sister Quorra, and that's Savrin." I introduced.
"Very unusual names. Hmm.... well it's nice to meet you all. We'll chit-chat latter, but right now we must get you all some decent clothes!"
We nodded.
"Who's first?"
Quorra and I turned to Sav. He sighed and shrugged.
"Might as well get it over with." He muttered.
Mama Bear nodded and rushed off.
When she came back, she held several outfits.
She placed them in a room covered by a red curtain.
Savrin then walked behind it with a sad look on his face.
"Let the fashion modeling begin!" Quorra shouted as we started to dance to the music

Prologue

You have been gone almost a full year.
I don't know where you are.
I don't even know if I'll ever see you again.
So I have decided to write this for you.
So if you are even to return and you cannot find me, I do hope you find this extremely long letter.
... I suppose though, it's more like a book.

                                                 ++++

After your little stunt in the ocean, we didn't hear from Tasin for a long while.
We found ourselves living a quiet life for a change.
I moved back in with Brinlynn, my former mentor and best friend.
My sister, Quorra, lives with us too. Savrin got his own place in Konsor, and Braxlin still lives... well actually I don't really know where he lives.
We spend a lot of time together these days.

Our lives are relatively normal. But inside, we all miss the "old days" as we call them.
And we all miss you a lot!
It feels like we've left something behind. Something important and special.
It's frightening sometimes.

But the adventure began 9 months after you left.

I was in a foggy meadow, in the distance I could here the ocean waves crashing against the shore.
Up ahead I saw a figure walking towards me.
“Who are you?” I called out. The figure didn’t answer. As it got closer the shape got more detailed. I could make out the long jacket that was being tossed around in the wind. I saw the pointed hair and I had a hunch.
“Is it you?” I asked. Before I knew it, the figure was standing in front of me.
You were standing in front of me.
I could see your silver-red eyes, the spiked black hair, the sly smile.
But then, you changed.
Your eyes turned a remarkable shade of blue, your black long hair grew shorter, and spiked out at a different angle. The hair on top of his/your head spiked out in a wave to your right.
But the most drastic change, was that your hair color went from jet black, to bleach blond!

“Who are you?” I asked again. The boy held out a hand.
“Trust me.” He said with a genuine smile.
I pulled my hands close and bit my bottom lip.
“No thanks.”
“Trust me.”
“No.”
“Trust me.”

I woke up in cold sweat. I was breathing hard, and my long hair was plastered to my neck.
I finally calmed down enough to shove my feet into a pair of boots, grab a jacket, and step outside in shorts and my daddy’s old shirt. (real smart of me yes I know I think we have established the fact that I don’t really think clearly when I wake up in middle of the night. haha)

The temperature outside was hot! it was in middle of the summer, but the air was cool, and there was a steady breeze.
I looked up at the starry night sky and found our stars.
“Where are you?” The wind took my whisper and flew it far away. To you I hoped.
I sighed and caught myself thinking.
Who was that boy?
Why was he in my dream?! I had never even seen him before!

“Do you miss him?”
I jumped and glanced around. Beside me stood a five-year-old little girl with big brown eyes and golden hair in pig-tails.
She wore what looked like a school uniform. A cream collared shirt with small poofy sleeves, an orange ribbon was tied into a bow under her collar.
She wore a navy blue jumper (which is a dress) that had a drop-waist and a belt. On her feet she wore white socks with little brown shoes.

“Tasin!” I scooped her up and spun her around. I then pulled her close and squeezed tight.
“I missed you! where have you been?” I asked, setting her back down.
“I missed you too!” She looked up at me with one of the sweetest smiles. “The Creator thought you all deserved a cool down.... well most of you anyway.”
“What do you mean by ‘most of us’?” I asked, walking to a bench.
“You’ll find out soon enough. That’s a promise.” Tasin said sweetly. Jumping up onto the bench, she started to swing her legs around..
I sighed and sat down next to her.
“So, what’s your answer?” She asked.
“yeah.... I do. But it’s horrible! I remember him. Like, that he was there, all we did together, the harpies we fought, the feelings that are still as strong as anything.... But I don’t remember him.
His face has faded, and so has his name!
It’s so... depressing!” I cried out, placing my head in my hands.
“It’s alright Zaydie. Don’t worry about it. Shh. You’ll remember, when the Creator says it’s time all of you will remember.” Tasin said quietly, giving me a hug.
I took a deep breath and nodded.
“But!” She exclaimed rather suddenly. “In the mean time, you guys have major slack to make up for! So prepare for things out of this world! Things that you wouldn’t have even imagined!” She shouted. Jumping up from the bench.
“But first!” She shoved a finger into the air, with her feet apart and a hand on her hip.
“You’ll need a full night’s sleep. Your going to meet new friends tomorrow.” My face lit up and my spirits rose.
For the past 9 months there’s been an uneasiness on everyone. It’s like we’re in the dark and we’re just waiting for something to jump us.
Only in this case we’re just waiting for something to go wrong.
But now that Tasin’s back (in an extremely cute outfit I might add. haha) Things can actually get going again! We could actually be doing something for a change! Something that’ll change Dresher forever!

“Will you be here tomorrow?” I asked. Tasin nodded.
“From here on out.”
I grinned.
“Good.”
“You should get back to bed. You have a big day tomorrow.”
I nodded and got up from the bench.
“Alrighty then. I can try. It’s good to see you again.” I smiled down at her and tugged on a pig-tail.
“M-hmm.... me too.”
Thank you Creator. Thank you! I prayed.
